MUSIC: Interview with Tyler MedeirosMarch 04, 2012 10:41 PM PST
Sixteen year old Tyler Medeiros has the inside edge on what makes a hot pop-track, mostly because he is cousin to Canadian pop sensations Danny Fernandes and Shawn Desman. Not a bad way to get into the music industry, but Tyler knows that it will take more then just family connections to become a pop star, it will take hard work and a love of his fans. Just before Tyler wraps up work in the studio on his first full length album and before heading across Canada on tour with Flo Rida and Pitbull, this singer of "Girlfriend" and "Say I Love You (Please Don't Go)" sat down for a chat with Press+1....

1) Do You Ever Get The Feeling Someone Else Is Living Your Life
Taped to Paul's apartment door are these three questions and a letter from a man claiming to be his doppelganger - his exact double. What ensues is a "stalker, buddy, road movie, comedy" that had me laughing regularly throughout the film. I had the chance to interview Director Dylan Akio Smith about his film Doppelganger Paul opening in Toronto at the Royal on Feb 24th. Find out why this is a great Canadian film you will want to see. You can check out more interviews, reviews and coverage of Canadian Films on the Press+1 Canadian Film section - http://www.pressplus1.com/canadian-film THE ODDS: An Interview with Filmmaker Simon DavidsonFebruary 16, 2012 10:28 PM PST
Most Canadian Films have the odds stacked against them, but this Canadian film called "The Odds" and found them in their favour. Today I am interviewing Simon Davidson, the Writer & Director of "The Odds". It is his first feature film and what I predict will set a precedent for Canadian films. The Odds distributor, Kinosmith, in what was originally thought to be an overly confident move, submitted only one film into the 2011 Toronto International Film Festival. After seeing "The Odds" and believing this to be my favourite Canadian film of the year, it would appear that Kinosmith knew they had been dealt a good hand. The film opens on Friday, March 2nd 2012 at the AMC in Toronto and will roll out across Canada after that. You can catch our review of the film on the Canadian Film Review web-show on Tuesday, February 28th on www.pressplus1.com. In the meantime, listen to our interview with filmmaker Simon Davidson and find out why he decided to make a film about a high-school gambling ring... The Press+1 Talks The 2012 Oscars

MOON POINT: Interview with Canadian Actress Paula BrancatiJanuary 27, 2012 12:48 AM PST
You are listening to the Press+1 Canadian Film Podcast (www.pressplus1.com/canadian-film). Moon Point is the inaugural feature film of the newly minted distribution company IndieCan Entertainment. Although the balance of this distributor's success does not weigh entirely on the shoulders of this romantic comedy, it is a spring board of things to come. Moon Point is the story of an ambitionless 23 year old named Darryl who travels hundreds of miles in a wagon strapped to the back of an electric wheelchair. Femur, Darryl's best friend, plays chauffeur on this epic journey Darryl takes to connect with his grade-school crush. Nick McKinlay, Paula Brancati and Kyle Mac star. Actress Paula Brancati of Degrassi High and Being Erica fame sat down with Press+1 to discuss the process of making the Canadian Indie Film MOON POINT. Next Page |
